On the evening of June 19, theselection and award ceremony of“Star of Tellhow· the Top Ten College Students” in 2019 was held in Smart Classroom No.310 in Teaching Building NO. 25 of South campus of ECJTU. Wan Ming, the Secretary of the University Party Committee, Chen Mengcheng, the vice president, and Tu Yanbin, the founding partner of Tellhow Group and other leaders attended the ceremony.
Secretary Wan firstly delivered a welcome speech and announced the beginning of “Star of Tellhow· the Top Ten College Students” in 2019. He believes that this activity shows the students’ high quality and the university’s effectiveness in recent years, so that parents can see the healthy growth of their children in campus, and also let Tellhow have a deeper understanding of students.
As the founding partner of Tellhow Group, Tu Yanbin, said in his speech that many of Tellhow’s outstanding talents come from ECJTU. He earnestly hopes that many students in this university can get jobs in Tellhow and play their intelligence on this platform to make more contributions and values to their personal success and the country’s development.
The selection is divided into three parts: self-introduction, video display, and asking-and-answering. The judges score the contestants according to their performance. At the same time, the score is combined with the wechat voting pre-competition. Finally, ten students won the title of “Star of Tellhow· the Top Ten College Students” in 2019 in ECJTU and achieved the summer study tour qualification fully awarded by Tell Group, including the graduate students named Fang Rongsheng in School of Economics and Management, Ren Jiaxing in School of Arts, Xu qian in School of Electrical Engineering, He Tian in School of Software and Gao Enduo in School of Science, and college students named Mi Yujie in School of humanities, Fan Xun in International School, Zhangbo in School of Art, Hu Shaohua in School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Liu ZhangJiaxuan in School of software.
On behalf of the Party Committee, Vice President Chen Mengcheng extended warm congratulations to the ten students who won the honorary title. He said that the establishment of this scholarship not only broadens the horizons of students studying abroad, but also greatly promotes the world’s understanding of Chinese universities in the new era, which strongly promotes the university to the world. This project is of great significance and will play an important role in the development of ECJTU.
The second selection and award ceremony of “Star of Tellhow· the Top Ten College Students” is jointly sponsored by both Tellhow Group and the Education Development Foundation of the University, undertaken by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, and co-sponsored by the Department of Science and Engineering of the Party committee, the Graduate School and the Graduate Work Department of the Party committee. In order to fully show the charming capabilities of students, the Department of International Communications and Exchanges arranged instructors for each contestant before the competition to help them actively prepare for the competition. Through modifying the video clips and simulating the on-site defense repeatedly, the comprehensive quality of the contestants has been greatly improved in the preparation. Wechat voting attracted more than 38 million flows and 35 million votes. At the same time, the activity was broadcast live on the Internet for the first time. With the attention of the judges and the online audience, the 20 contestants showed the spirit of striving for excellence and pursuing perfection. As the start-up film said, “They are younger. They are the pioneers of the dream. They running forward and never stop”, which not only played a good role in typical publicity, but also enhance the influence of the university.
