On March 1, 2020, Li Dongwei, president of the International School and director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department went to the international student apartment to visit the students’ living conditions with the comrades of the detention department and the dormitory staff.
Since the outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia, our school has attached great importance to epidemic prevention measures, and has closed campus management in time. As of today, there are still 37 international students staying in our university. How to arrange their lives and do a good job of epidemic prevention during the period of epidemic prevention and control is the top priority of the work of the International School during the period, and also the most concerned issue since President Li took office.
As soon as she arrived at the international student apartment, President Li began to check the entry and exit registration accounts of the international students, and checked the sanitation prevention and control such as cleaning and disinfection in the public area of the dormitory, so as to have an in-depth understanding of the daily management, life security, sanitation prevention and control, and ideological trends of the international students. After that, Li cordially expressed her sympathy to the students who stayed in the school, and asked the conditions of their protective and living materials as well as the difficulties in learning online courses and so on. The foreign students are asked to do a good job in self-protection, and they must wear masks when they go out. “Protecting ourselves is to protect everyone,” Dean Li repeatedly told the students.
At the same time, in order to solve the travel inconvenience caused by the epidemic prevention and control, and calm the mood of foreign students, Dean Li specially arranged counselor Deng Rui, the foreign student to go to buy bread, spaghetti, canned tuna, canned red kidney beans and other living materials, and distribute them to foreign students free. This procurement fully combines characteristics that students come from Russia, Bangladesh, Morocco, Ghana and other countries with different religious beliefs and eating habits.
In the end, President Li and comrades in detention department distributed living materials to the students in the way of staggering the time and taking turns in the dormitory.
The hearts of foreign students are warm with the warm spring sun. “Thanks very much for the teachers coming to visit us and bringing us what we need most. My heart is very warm.” Ayman, a Moroccan foreign student who received living materials said happily.
At present, all of the comrades of the International School and the students will work together to overcome the difficulties. We must be prepared to work together and persist in the end. We will never slacken our efforts until we have won a comprehensive victory in the fight against epidemic prevention and control!
